Two Officers Honoured At Buckingham Palace
Commissioner of Police Mr. Michael DeSilva, and retired Assistant Commissioner Mr. Carlton Adams, were recently honoured at an investiture held at Buckingham Palace.
A police spokesperson said, “Commissioner of Police Mr. Michael DeSilva, and retired Assistant Commissioner Mr. Carlton Adams, were recently honoured at an investiture held at Buckingham Palace.
“Mr. Adams received the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire [MBE] for outstanding service to the community. Mr. Adams joined the Bermuda Police in 1968 and retired at the end of 2009.
“Mr. DeSilva received the Queen’s Police Medal [QPM] for distinguished service. He joined the Service in 1985 and he has held the Commissioner’s post since 2009. The investiture took place on 8th February and the awards were presented by HRH Prince Charles.”
